Wedding favours are tokens of appreciation given to wedding guests by the bride and groom. They are usually given out a the wedding reception and can form part of the table decoration.
The tradition of giving wedding favours is thought to date back many centuries. Favours were origianlly given by the upper classes, they were boxes made of crystal or porcelin containing bonbons. Over time the bonbons were replaced with 5 sugared almonds representing health, wealth happiness, fertility and longevity.
